What you can find on Tamarind (Tamarindus indica)

As we know, interactions occur between living things. So plants with living things around them. Plants can be a place to live for other living things (habitat), even can be a host plant (host plants) for insects. Insects do metamorphosis or life cycle. To carry out its life cycle insects need nutrition. Some insects get their nutrition by eating plant parts such as leaves. This time we will share the observations we found on the tamarind tree ( Tamarindus indica ). First seen the existence of green caterpillars. Its head is large with a flat face and four head ornaments shaped like a beautiful crown or even looks like a dragon's head. So it is also known as The Dragon Headed Caterpillar. This caterpillar is active at night and during the day will tend to stay above the 'leaf bed'. When actively moving, the caterpillars will go back and forth. Because of its beauty, this caterpillar is often used as an object of photography, especially for macro photography. Furthermore, the

Superb Camouflage, Poltys illepidus

One day my sister and I went to the garden. Then we found something strange. Guess what is this, guys?  Is this an owl?  Or just a twig? If you look closely, you can see the legs. At least it is known that it is an animal. But what exactly is the animal? At that time we did not know for sure. So we tried to see it more closely using lenses from various sides. Its small size makes it quite difficult to observe with the naked eye. The shape (morphology) and the colour are like twigs, making it camouflage perfectly. Besides, it didn't move at all.  So we put it in a magnifying jar that has a magnification of 3x and 5x. The legs are seen clutching dry leaves. But it still did not move at all. So, w e tried to shake it, and make it move. Evidently,  the animal is a spider. Based on literature and discussions with friends at iNaturalist, we finally know its classification. This spider is scientifically named Poltys illepidus, and is also known as' Tree-Stump

Agriculture Traning in Al-Ittifaq with Mr Johan Schoenmakers (PUM Netherlands)

Last September, I took part in an agriculture training for five days in a boarding school located in Ciwidey, Al-Ittifaq Boarding School. The trainer is an agronomist from PUM Netherlands, Mr Johan Schoenmakers. The training opened up my knowledge and understanding of agriculture. It's great and what a pity if I just keep it to myself. So these what i got from there. Happy reading.^^ Agriculture in Holland is very advanced and interesting. Although with an area of 42,508  K m 2  and only 4% of its population (17.08 million people) is work farmers or around 685,586 people, the Netherlands can become the largest exporter in the agricultural sector. In contrast to Indonesia, for example, just on Java with an area of 128,297 K m 2  and 40% of the population being farmers of 150.4 million people or around 60,160,000 people, they have not been able to maximize the agricultural sector. So, actually, we have a big potential. Just imagine if we can do it, not only in Java but

Cloth Magnifier and Magnifying Jar; a review

Hello everyone. It's been a long time I am not sharing any posts. So at this moment, I want to share a review. The review is about two things that I got from my teacher as a gift.  But before I start the review, I will share my story behind these things.  So, last month, I joined a training. It's an agriculture training with Mr Johan Schoenmakers as a trainer from PUM. That's really boarded my knowledge especially in agriculture which very related to biology. And of course the networking too, that's really amazing to know him and all participants as well. I listen to their experience, story and share nice conversation. Therefore, I am glad to be one of the participants. In that training, Mr Johan Scoenmakers found me take an interest in insect and plant. My mindset is also really different from the other participant. Mostly the participant background is farmers, or student with agriculture, agribusiness, agrotechnology as their major. Automatically,
