I took these pictures in my garden flower. I always being curious about the caterpillar, what kind of butterfly they will be. So if I find caterpillars in my garden, I will be very excited and check it every day, just to find out their growth. Even though my plants will become victims. Their leaves will be eaten by them.
This is one of the caterpillars that completed their cycle in my garden. They eat the leaves and live on my ornamental palms i.e lipstick palm (Cyrtostachys renda) and bamboo palm (Rhapis excelsa).

Underside: Both female and male are brown
with white marks like uneven pattern near the termen, the tornus and mostly the apex. There's also a white spot near the costa of the hindwing.
Upperside: It is different between female
and male. Female has orange colours, and the male has blue colours.
*I think it hard to take their upper surface pictures. Because I never see they open their wings when they perched. But in iNaturalist and Butterflies of India, I found some pictures, E. hypermnestra perched and opened its wings. It's cool and beautiful. You better check it.
